Proven Possibilities
When Ashley Salvador made the motion to increase the budget to 35 million from fifteen, in favor of demolishing the Edmonton Coliseum, you voted against it.
I know that Mayor Sohi 's reasoning was that the city had not the funds to justify such a commitment. Were there other reasons behind that decision?
I would be very interested to understand all five council 🤔 members' reasoning to keep the Edmonton Coliseum and not take the building down.
Now that the building will require over sixty (60) million dollars to disassemble or remove, with an annual increase of three percent in property taxes and an additional two percent to beautify exhibition lands for the sale to developers, what say you now?
These are valid questions that I would like to put to the eight Councilors who voted in favor of demolition @ 35 million dollars and recently approved a 6.1 percent increase in our property taxes to raise an additional 60 plus million that Edmontonians are not at all happy about. Especially given the current economic climate.
