Round Table #4: Save The Coliseum – First Meeting Held @ The Cactus Club with Denis Paproski & Tom Orourke of Domcor, August 19th, 2024.
Dennis & Tom both submitted that Domcor provides on the ground security services all over Our Province Alberta and is working to secure more business in Beautiful British Columbia. A good deal was covered in Round Table #3, more directly as it pertains to security for the Edmonton Coliseum. Both inside and outside, including the LRT and VIA Rail Stations, North & South. In lue of my meeting @ City Hall with Andrew Knack, these gentleman are excited to bring more of their expertise and professionalism to the table when it comes to The City of Edmonton and neighboring communities. Domcors’ drive and determination is impressive with the desire to support Andrew Knacks passion,Tackling Homelessness.
The second meeting with Councillor Andrew Knack proved to be very productive. We met at city hall over lunch August 21st, 2024. and Andrew was very interested in what I brought to the table in the effort to tackle homelessness.
This is where savethecoliseum.ca comes into play. The plan includes a navigational centre that allows family members to be treated with dignity and respect. Inhouse security provided by Domcor. Andrew Knack is very aware and familiar of the great work Domcor provides and does very well indeed. Belongings to be kept and stored once cleared by a police security check. Pets welcome. A medical intake to our community clinic and teaching hospital makes sure the well-being of everyone is paramount. We are hoping to add a much needed Neonatal unit and state of the art cancer treatment center with funding from the provincial and federal governments.
There are three of the six floors that boast fifty (50) Thousand square feet of space each. Plenty of room to accommodate all we are planning for and more with the possibility of doubling capacity. The complete business plan will show the addition of more sky boxes that will be made into hospital rooms and shelter spaces supported by YESS as the model volunteer organization.
One of these floors devoted to Edmonton Public Schools K12 complete with a play room, a place for Zebra and a school breakfast and lunch program, all backed by community support groups. Councillors to aid in development, support and career choices.
Although a request for access to the Coliseum was requested by Andrew, to the city real-estate department, we did not get a desired response. Hopefully a date and access will be granted in due course and the paperwork showing two months of payments for power and gas can be provided for a brokered comparison and savings.
The complete business model will be unveiled with costs, revenue streams and investment options in due course. Andrew Knack was given a taste of it in camera.
